SALOME, an open-source platform, offers engineers, researchers, and practitioners a comprehensive solution with modules for CAD, meshing, coupling of phenomena, visualization, calculation supervision, uncertainties, and more. Salome is commonly identified with the daughter of Herodias who, according to accounts in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew, danced for Herod Antipas. In his Jewish Antiquities, Josephus mentions marriages and children of the daughter of Herodias named Salome. Key Insights
Salome, daughter of Herodias and stepdaughter of the tetrarch Herod Antipas. She was the immediate agent in the execution of John the Baptist, who had condemned her mother’s marriage to Herod. After she danced for Herod, he promised to grant her any wish. Prompted by Herodias, she asked for John’s head on a platter. Salome obediently asked Herod for this grisly gift, and, though the Bible says Herod was grieved, he honored his promise.
